Set hourly rates, flat fees, and memberships as products, attach them to venues, and get totals calculated automatically on every booking.

Pricing is defined as products, and products are attached to venues. Once a venue has a product, every booking on it is priced automatically — in the dashboard as staff type, and on your public page as customers choose a slot.

## The three kinds of product

- Time-based — a rate for a length of time, which is how most courts, pitches, and lanes are sold
- Flat fee — one price regardless of duration, for a hall hire or an event package
- Subscription — a recurring membership, pass, or block of credits

## Create a product

1. Open Products and create a new one
2. Name it something a member of staff would recognise on a booking, not just "Standard"
3. Choose the type, set the price and currency, and for time-based products the duration it covers
4. Attach it to the venues it applies to
5. Leave it active

Currencies available are US dollars, euros, pounds, Canadian dollars, and Australian dollars, and the currency is also set on the venue.

## Subscription products

A subscription product can work in one of three ways:

- Unlimited — the member books freely
- Credits — a set number of bookings per period
- Discount — a percentage off the normal rate

Billing is monthly or yearly. Member subscriptions themselves are managed in the Payload admin rather than the dashboard today, so set up the product first and get in touch if you are building a membership scheme around it.

## Naming products so staff can use them

Products appear as line items on bookings and on invoices, so the name is doing customer-facing work. "Court hire, peak, per hour" tells you what happened; "Product 2" does not, and you will be the one reading it back in six months.

## Where pricing shows up

- Live on the booking form as staff choose venue and times
- As an estimated total on your public booking page
- As the amount charged at Stripe checkout
- As line items on an invoice raised against a booking
- In your dashboard figures for booked value and collected cash

## Charging something different once

For a one-off — a goodwill rate, a negotiated block, a partial charge — request an invoice against the booking with a custom amount rather than creating a product you will never use again. Products should stay the prices you actually publish.

## FAQs

### Can different courts have different prices?

Yes. Products are attached to specific venues, so a show court and a back court can carry different rates while sitting on the same calendar.

### Can I charge more at peak times?

Time-based products price by duration rather than by time of day, so a single product will not vary by hour. Where peak pricing matters, tell us how you sell it — it helps us build the right thing rather than a setting nobody uses.

### What currencies are supported?

US dollars, euros, pounds sterling, Canadian dollars, and Australian dollars. Currency is set on the product and on the venue.

### How do I stop charging for a space without losing its history?

Set the product inactive, or detach it from that venue. Past bookings keep the prices they were made at.
