## Sound Familiar?

Cage rental and lesson scheduling are two different businesses sharing the same four tunnels, and most facilities run them in two different systems. A coach books a tunnel for a private lesson in one calendar, walk-in rentals go in another, regulars are tracked on a clipboard, and every January the whole thing collapses under the pre-season rush.

## Built for Batting Cages & Training Centers

Features designed specifically for managing batting cage bookings and maximizing facility revenue.

### Cage & Tunnel Rental

Rent each cage in 30- or 60-minute blocks. Set different rates for machine tunnels, soft-toss cages, and full turf areas.

### Lessons on the Same Calendar

Private and small-group lessons are booked against the same tunnel availability as rentals, so a lesson can never be double-booked against a walk-in rental.

### Standing Weekly Slots

Give regular hitters and travel teams the same tunnel every week as a recurring series.

### Half-Hour Slot Control

Cage rental is a 30-minute business. Set 30-minute slot increments and minimum and maximum booking length per cage, plus how far ahead anyone can book.

### Built for the Winter Rush

January through March is most of your year. Extend each cage’s operating hours for the season and let families book and pay online instead of calling.

### Payment at Booking

Take card payment when a cage is booked, or send a Stripe invoice to teams renting tunnel time in bulk.

## What indoor hitting facilities need that generic schedulers miss

A batting cage facility is really two businesses — hourly cage rental and coached instruction — competing for the same handful of tunnels, with almost all the revenue compressed into a four-month window. That combination breaks most general-purpose booking tools in predictable ways.

### One tunnel calendar, or you will double-book a coach

The single most common failure in this business is a coach arriving for a 4pm private lesson to find a family already in the tunnel with a bucket of balls. It happens because lesson scheduling and cage rental were set up as separate systems, and nothing in either one knows the other exists.

The fix is structural rather than procedural: the tunnel is the resource, and both lessons and rentals consume it. When a coach is booked into tunnel 2, that tunnel is not available to rent for that hour, and no amount of front-desk vigilance is required to keep it that way. Any facility running more than two coaches should treat this as a hard requirement.

### Thirty-minute economics change what "booking software" means

Cage rental is one of the few facility businesses where the standard unit is half an hour. That has consequences most software gets wrong. Booking lengths need to be configurable per space, because a machine tunnel sells in thirties while a full turf area sells in sixties. And a booking calendar that renders hour blocks by default will show a facility half its actual inventory.

It also raises the cost of manual administration to the point of absurdity. A four-tunnel facility open twelve hours a day has ninety-six sellable slots per day. Nobody should be taking those over the phone.

- Per-cage booking length and 30-minute slot increments
- Different rates for machine tunnels, soft toss, and turf
- Dashboard stats on your busiest days and hours

### Seasonality is the whole business model

For most of North America, indoor hitting facilities earn the large majority of their revenue between January and March. That concentration means two things. First, fair access during the rush matters more than anything you do in July — when a handful of travel-ball parents book every Saturday through the spring, dozens of other families go without, so decide your booking rules before January rather than during it.

Second, the shoulder season is where growth is. Selling tunnel time in November smooths cash flow, and it only happens if booking is self-service: a family that can see an open cage and pay for it in a minute will book one, and a family that has to call often will not.

### Memberships need an allowance somebody trusts

Monthly memberships with included cage time are increasingly the model for this category, and they are attractive because they convert unpredictable walk-in revenue into a subscription. The operational catch is tracking the allowance. If a member has four included hours a month, somebody has to know how many they have used before the fifth booking gets confirmed.

Included-hours balances are not tracked in the booking calendar today, so that balance lives in whatever system bills the membership. The calendar handles the bookings themselves, including standing weekly slots for members who come at the same time every week. Kept on a clipboard, the allowance becomes an argument at the front desk in February.

## Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about batting cage booking software

### Can we rent cages in 30-minute blocks?

Yes. Set booking length and slot increments per cage — 30 minutes for machine tunnels, 60-minute blocks on turf areas.

### How do lessons and rentals share the same tunnels?

Both are bookings on the same cage. When a coach books tunnel 2 for a 4pm lesson, that tunnel is no longer available to rent at 4pm. There is no separate coaching calendar to reconcile.

### Can we sell memberships that include cage time?

Not yet. Memberships and included-hours balances are not supported. Today you can give members a standing weekly slot as a recurring series, or send them a Stripe invoice for their monthly time.

### Do you support prepaid punch cards?

Not yet. There is no punch card or credit balance tracking, so prepaid packages need to be tracked outside the product. Bookings are paid individually at your cage rate.

### How do we handle the pre-season rush?

Extend each cage’s operating hours for the season, let families book and pay online, and set a maximum advance-booking window so nobody books out the spring months ahead. Per-customer booking caps are not supported yet.

### Can coaches manage their own schedules?

Invite coaches to your account so they can book tunnels for their lessons themselves. Coach availability is not tracked separately, but a tunnel a coach has booked cannot be rented to anyone else.

### Will you raise my price?

No. We will not raise prices on customers who sign up at the current $79/mo Pro rate — even if our public pricing increases later.

### Will you retire my plan?

No. We do not retire old plans. Your plan tier stays valid; we never force you onto a new tier to keep the same features at a higher price.

### What does grandfathered mean?

You keep your signup rate and plan tier forever. Sign up at $79/mo Pro today and that is what you pay — always grandfathered in.
